Happy Friday!
I have always loved Fridays but they are different now that my husband has retired. We are no longer bound by the days of the week and Friday seems much like any other day. Funny how the different chapters of our lives make things seem different....when they really are not.
We are now coming to the end of the first month of the kitchen remodel. I am learning, little by little, to adjust and settle in. I still have my moments of freaking out but I am pampering myself in little ways to make it a bit easier.
Taking the low, flat ceiling out and replacing with a cathedral ceiling has been a huge task! My husband is an engineer by degree (he was a defense contracts manager in his professional life) and this has been our saving grace. I have been reminded, again, of his talent and intelligence during this last month. The ceiling will be, by far, the hardest part of this remodel.
Getting a fresh new haircut, yesterday, has helped and I am treating myself to some little things over the weekend. Keeping the rest of the house spanking clean.....the part that is untouched from the remodel....has helped me more than I can say. I retreat to these rooms when I have reached the end of my rope.
The weather in Florida is gorgeous....we are so blessed. You won't hear me speak much of it during the summer which I dislike but now.........oh my. I am thinking of those in the Northeast and praying for their safety.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend! ♥

Happy Friday Sweet Barb! I know how that retired life is! It is so nice to be able to have the whole week instead of just the weekend to accomplish things:) You will be kicking up your heels when that kitchen is finished! Enjoy this beautiful weather! I am praying for those in the NE as well! BIG HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb
ReplyDeletePatience is not easy in this age of instant everything! Can't wait to see the finished remodel. Your Cloche with teacup is lovely.
Take care sweet lady.

Dear Barb,
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I have power so I stroll through blogs trying to stay afloat..The New England winds are howling and a State of Emergency has been in force. Our town is a ghost town with no auto's except snowplows allowed to be on roads. I so wish it were daylight as a storm is much worse when you cant see out the windows. But, all that is happening, I too am so thankful for my little private space to retreat to when the whole world seems upside down. I know exactly how you feel when you escape to the safety of your clean and organized space..it is where we know our hearts are the happiest! Enjoy it most!
Isn't it amazing what a haircut will do for a woman! I think you are doing great to keep the rest of the house clean during this process.
ReplyDeleteOh what a GREAT delight to find you blogging once again! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much for leaving such lovely comment.
xoxo
As always, your photos, and decorating are fabulous! TFS.
ReplyDeleteI saw the photo on Facebook of the new ceiling. I bet it won't be long now until the refurb is done and dusted.
