Hello Friends, it is absolutely amazing what turning off the national and local news for a few days....and getting into some uplifting material....can do for the human soul.
Sometimes, because I get caught up in life, I forget to take the time to sit and read....it is truly restorative for the mind and spirit. I also took some time to just sit and think of all the blessings I have in my life. I know this sounds so simple but it works.
I'm just not one of those people that can have fifty things going on at once.....I wasn't able to do this even as a young person. I always feel as though I am just 'going through the paces' and oblivious to whatever I am doing. That doesn't speak to me. I want to 'live the moment.' That isn't always possible but I am making an effort to make it more so in my life.
I treated myself to the beautiful roses....above.....while grocery shopping yesterday. I have always said...I can see God's Face in a flower.
Hoping you are having a beautiful and 'aware' Sunday. ♥
Beautiful roses! Your thoughts for today are so wise! Have a blessed Sunday, Barb!

Free-FRESHING! News steals away my breath. I avoid it like the plague!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful friend.

I can see God's face in flowers too:) Your roses are gorgeous! We all need some rest and time to reflect! It is like fuel for our souls! Have a blessed day my dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely beautiful roses! You have made my day! Thank you!
ReplyDeletethat is so true for me too. I am supposed to be working on my dissertation, but instead, I find myself dreaming about houses and building and wishing ours would sell. I am indulging myself for a few moments, then off to academia.
ReplyDeleteI know you will enjoy the roses to the upmost. Although I will be watching Downton Abbey tonight, I have been making an effort not to turn the television on just for company this week. I know it steals my energy, and if it's on, how can my mind come up with a new thought, new idea that's just waiting to get my attention. Sometimes it's even nice not to have music playing and just work in silence.I'm going to try to do that more often this year. I bet you feel more rested, body and spirit, after you have stopped for awhile to read instead of just going through the paces. Nice!
ReplyDeleteLife goes much more smoothly when we begin it with God and devotions. Around here, the television is turned on, sometimes, at night but never during the day. There's too much interesting stuff going on to deal with trash.
ReplyDeleteNothing like fresh flowers to lift the spirits. And I agree with you, it's all too easy to get caught up in the Daily Doom, as I like to call it these days. There's simply nothing positive in the media any more. But that's what the off button was made for!
ReplyDeleteBy the way Barb, I've accidentally deleted the comment you kindly left on my Kind-Hearted Blogger post. Honest to Pete, you can't leave me in charge of any thing these days. LOL!

As always, Beautiful post! I'm not good with multi-tasking either, (as they call it) I let myself get distracted way too often...then lose track of my main and most important goals. It's one of the reasons I picked "focus" as my motivational word this year. Hope you have a great week. Blessings, Jill
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm not able to do too many things at once either. It is very overwhelming to me and I don't like the feeling. Always admire people who can. Your roses are just beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like flowers ( especially in winter ) to bring some joy. I have a few bulbs going on in my little kitchen and they make my day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post and photos you have here :)
