A New Project and Focusing

Well, we are finally doing it!

Redoing the kitchen. We have lived in our dear cottage for 33 years and outside of appliance changes and counter changes....we have never redone our kitchen. Everything else seemed to need our attention....mostly lakeside, I must admit. :-)

Now, the kitchen is receiving our full attention. My husband and I, as usual, will do at least two-thirds of the work. We are do-it-yourself people... from way back. My husband is now retired and has more time to work on these things but he is slow, I will openly admit it.....but, the work will be done right!

The problem is/will be.......me!

I hate, loathe, detest.....disorder. My mind simply refuses to work in disorder and I have a hard time with it. So, now, it is time to 'focus' and realize there is a higher goal I am reaching for. God gifted me with amazing focus and now, it will be tested. I say this almost in jest.....but, not really!

I won't be around much.......my posting will be here and there but I am here.

Just working! ♥

  3. I wish that you could see what a mess I have all around me RIGHT now:) I am cleaning out closets and taking tons of clothes to Goodwill! BUT... it is driving me nuts that I have so much stuff all over the place! Let's just look beyond the mess:) Hugs to you dear friend!

  4. Perfectly understand your need to focus on the project at hand. It will be exciting when it's done but having lived through almost 6 months of using the microwave and an electric skillet I know there will be times when you wondered why you ever started. But--it will be done by the holidays next fall!

  6. whoops, Barb, I think for some reason I may have done it again, and sent my post off before I wanted to...Here we go again. If you received the first one, (half done--please delete...smile)
Focus! That's my word for the new year, Focus! I need to Focus on my priorities. Focus on what is most important and it sounds exactly like what you are doing. Having been through a kitchen remodel not that long ago, I know exactly how stressful it can be. Our kitchen had not had a redo since the day the house was built (60+ years ago) We had lived in it over 35 years when we finally redid our kitchen. I can't say it's my dream kitchen (It's a budget kitchen) but it is a dream that finally came true when our kitchen managed to get a much overdue update, all that plaster dirt, etc. was worth it---we actually removed walls) Hope it all goes smoothly for you, and I can't wait to see pics...Blessings, Jill
