Bedroom Flocked Tree and Some Thoughts

I wanted to show you a picture of the master bedroom tree I worked on yesterday and this morning. The lighting in this room is very soft and it is hard to pick up details. I will post more pictures later on as I am in a somber mood....but I just wanted to touch base with you all.

The lamp shade photographs blue and I have no idea why...it is lavender. :-) This is the first tree I have flocked and it was fun but messy, messy. :-) I had planned to incorporate a bit of pink but decided not to. The tree has feathery birds all over it along with cut glass ornaments, white poinsettias and clear, frosted and white balls.

The last days have been hard for me...as I am sure they have been for you. I am shocked beyond belief and found that I could not talk about the Sandy Hook Tragedy the first day at all. I have never once asked myself  why something like this happened. I am just stricken with grief for the families of these dear souls. May God touch each and every one of them and help them to find a way out of these tormented days.

I hope you all are well.....you are never far from my thoughts. ♥

  1. Your bedroom tree is beautiful! It adds a magical touch to the space.

I know how you feel, Barb. The last few days have been difficult for all of us, the grief is overwhelming. As a retired teacher I can identify with this tragedy. This kind of thing was always one of my fears the last few years of my career.

    Hugs & love,

  7. Such a beautiful and peaceful room Barb. It has been so hard these last few days thinking of those sweet innocent children and what their families are going through. It makes me want to hold my grandchildren and give thanks for them each day. Take care friend. Hugs...Deb

  8. Your room does emanate peace. It must be very restful there. I have tried to put a little tree in every room of my house but nothing on the scale that you have there. There simply isn't room. That tragedy is something I can barely even think about, but am praying for comfort and strength for all those families. I'm trying to think about good things and good times right now and am being very thankful for them. That brings me peace.
