Living Through a Remodel

Hello Friends, it has been awhile, I know. Who said these were the best of times....the worst of times? Well, whoever it was, I can relate.

Unless you have been through a major kitchen remodel...meaning NOTHING in this new kitchen is the same  as the old kitchen, there is no way for me to describe the 'terrors' of it. Taking the low, flat ceiling out and changing to a cathedral ceiling was the hardest part. I am a Type A personality and need everything ordered and straight all the time....not just once in a while. So, it is quite needless to say, this has been hard. It has! Having a kitchen, the heart of the home, out of commission is unlike any other kind of renovation and especially when you LOVE to cook as I do.

The kitchen is now 95% completed and with the pantry installation and the French doors being installed, it will be completed and we will move on to the dining room and then the family room with new floors. 

I will be here occasionally and will post pictures soon. Most of you, who know me, can find me on Facebook also on an occasional basis. Just trying to dodge the mess takes up the bulk of my day and I know that many of you will understand this totally.

I Love Spring....

 Just a little post to wish you all a happy spring.....I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather and getting outside a bit to revel in it.

I have been working in my plants in the yard lately, when I get a chance, and it is so renewing to the spirit.....so life giving. I love it. Also, started putting more live houseplants out in my home. I stopped doing that for several years but now, I am back. They do require a fair amount of work to keep up but  are definitely worth it.

Spring Changes and an Update

Hi All.....I have been really busy making furniture changes in the house and trying to keep everything as organized as possible with a kitchen remodel in progress.

My husband and I (and a friend) moved about half a dozen large pieces of furniture and you know how that goes.....one thing leads to another and on and on. Yikes! This corner cabinet was in the living room and now it resides in the family room. I decorated it with lots of green and this is probably the most color you have seen on my blog in awhile. Ha.

The kitchen renovation is moving along at a much faster rate now. It is coming together and the floor will be installed this weekend. We are taking the wood floors into the family room, dining room, and hall plus a landing. This will come gradually in the next weeks. The quartz counters and island will be installed in two weeks. I am chomping at the bit as you can imagine. I find myself standing in there and just dreaming of how I will decorate it. Ahhhhhh.......

What To Do....What To Do?

 What to do....what to do? I have a dilemma on my hands....not a big one but one that is important to me.

We have decided to increase the size of the kitchen island so that means the large country hutch that I presently have in my kitchen must go. 

The picture above is the hutch decorated for Spring and in the pic below, it is decorated for Fall. 

If you were a reader of my old blog or a new reader here...you already know I love, love this piece of furniture. It is absolutely my favorite piece for seasonal decorating...which I adore. The problem is this piece of furniture is huge and won't go just anywhere and I am determined to keep it....I absolutely have a place in my heart for Country. 

So, friends, we will now see how much imagination I truly have to come up with a new space in my home for my beloved old friend. Think I can do it? You bet I will.......tune in later.
